Invitation a la Danse - Piano Four Hands
“An imaginative selection of 19th-century nationalist dances for piano duet, plus a wry modern 'deconstruction' of the genre, performed with vigour.”
This CD was recorded at the beginning of 2015 in the Studio Ernest Ansermet in Geneva, close to the edge of the lake. It takes us on a journey to the Nordic and Alpine countries, from Sweden to Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, through Norway.
Of a romantic nature, the programme presents Grieg, Bruch or the rare Huber, with a surprise from Helena Winkelman, young Swiss composer. Since their first encounter in 2007 during the Swiss festival Piano à Saint-Ursanne, Christiane Baume-Sanglard and Dana Ciocarlie have started working together and collaborating as a Four-Hands Piano Duo.
The female duo has since played in numerous concerts and festivals all over Europe.
