GENEVA COMPETITION PIANO LAUREATES - LIVE RECORDING - LAUREATES FESTIVAL 2015
Montres Breguet and its President & CEO, Marc A. Hayek, have long-standing tradition of supporting arts and culture preservation. In line with this patronage, the House of Breguet began, in 2002, a partnership with the Geneva International Music Competition. Fourteen years later, this association has grown stronger, leading to the establishment of a genuine harmony between the horological and musical worlds. The values driving the artistic performance of musicians are in many ways closely intertwined with those guiding the creation of timepieces by Breguet’s highly skilled craftsmen.
Alongside their dedication to sharing beauty and emotion, these two arts join in a common quest for perfection, technical expertise and precision. But the ties bringing the Manufacture and Music together are not new: eminent composers and musicians, ranging from Rossini to Rubinstein, were unconditional admirers and owners of Breguet watches across centuries.
Adding to this tribute to the past, the brand is proud to help launch, year after year, the careers of young prodigies destined to make tomorrow’s history. The 70 edition of the 2015 Geneva Competition was marked by the « Laureates’ Festival » honouring the pianists th who were awarded a prize between 2000 and 2015. On this special occasion, the honorees were given the opportunity to record a 3-disc CD, sponsored by Breguet, featuring a selection of exceptional concerts. We wish you great pleasure in discovering the compositions proposed by these young talents with a promising future.
