COUP DE CŒUR PIGUET GALLAND, CULLY CLASSIQUE 2015, SIRANOSSIAN & FOUCHENNERET
Astrig Siranossian is French, of Armenian origin. Born in a family of musicians, she has been performing since the age of four. Whether alone, as soloist, or as a passionate chamber musician, her repertoire is huge, ranging from Baroque to Contemporary: composers such as Jean-Luc Darbellay, Rudolf Kelterborn, Tigran Mansurian or Daniel Schnyder have already written works for her.
Chamber musicians such as Bertrand Chamayou, Jacques Di Donato, Yo-Yo Ma (in 2014 she played Philippe Hersant’s Cello Octet with him), or Adrian Oetiker, the two brothers Bruno and Régis Pasquier, Daniel Ottensamer, Michel Taddei, Bruno Schneider and Daniel Schnyder have performed with her – orchestras such as the Basel Symphony Orchestra, Lyon Chamber Orchestra, Gießen Philharmonic, the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the Zagreb Soloists or the Zabreb Philharmonic regularly invite her to play with them.
During the 2014/2015 and 2015/2016 seasons, Astrig will also be collaborating in an Irina Brook production at the National Theatre in Nice.
Astrig Siranossian has been a guest of several festivals, Annecy Classique, Viva Cello, La Roque d'Anthéron, Auvers-sur-Oise, Basle Chamber Music Festival, Cully Festival, Menton Festival. The French television channel TF1 recently did a portrait of the young ‘cellist, and interviews have been broadcast live by Radio-France and the Bavarian Radio (together with ‘cellist Sol Gabetta).
Numerous artists such as Janos Starker, Miklos Perenyi, Conradin Brotbeck, Anner Bylsma, Gary Hoffmann, Jens Peter Maintz, Truls Mørk, Roland Pidoux, Ferenc Rados, and Tibor Varga have already supported her and continue to do so. Astrig Siranossian was born in Lyon in 1988. At the age of eight she passed the entrance examination for the Lyon National Conservatory, first studying in Patrick Gabard’s class, then in Yvan Chiffoleau’s class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. After a diploma in Higher Studies that she obtained in 2008 with the Jury’s commendations, she studied in Switzerland, where she passed her Concert and Soloist Master diploma with high distinction in Ivan Monighetti’s class at the Basel Hochschule für Musik.
The young musician won the Penderecki International Cello Competition (as well as two special prizes), the Prize offered in France by the Banque Populaire, as well as the Basel Duo Competition 2013.
