INNER MOVEMENTS
Even before man makes music, music has made him.
Just like every note that sounds, everything that exists vibrates and gives way to transformation. The true being of man is his ability to vibrate with the tone and rhythm of every kind of manifestation.
Form, movement and color are also, like words and music, sounds for the corresponding sense of us. We achieve our highest ability to resonate in the present moment, when things past and future can be brought together in the Here and Now.
Music can only sound in to the present. On the audible level this means that it has no standing in time, unlike a picture which can be looked at anytime, or turned away from.
Even though it seems possible to fix it on paper, it really can only come alive through the expression and transmission of an instrument and its ships. They can be empty or laden with meaning, which reveals itself just now.
The inspiration for the twelve tone-pictures of the composition “Inner Movements” unfolded itself not only through inwardly heard melodies, harmonies and rhythms, but also through the transposition of impressions, forms, dances and poetry to a musical plane.
