GIOACCHINO ROSSINI: L'OCCASIONE FA IL LADRO
Don Parmenione and Count Alberto (who is on his way to Naples in order to see his future bride for the first time) mistakenly end up with the other’s suitcase. Martino, Parmenione’s servant, opens the new suitcase in order to take advantage of the situation. When Parmenione sees the picture of a beautiful woman (but it is not of the bride-to-be) among the belongings, he decides to pass himself as Alberto in order to marry her. This is the beginning of a long array of mix-ups and deceptions, which aren’t, however, without a happy end.
