DEBUSSY, DUPARC & POULENC: MÉLODIES
Enthusiastically applauded at the most prestigious opera houses around the world, French soprano Norah Amsellem makes her solo recording debut with Claves. The focal point is an anthology of French songs by Debussy, Duparc and Poulenc recorded at the lovely Saint-Victor de Villecroze Chapel in Provence (France) in 2003. These songs are so suited to her voice that baritone Gérard Souzay himself wrote in the accompanying booklet: “Thank you, Norah, French song has been waiting for you! You are a genius!”
The singer benefits on this recording from the experience of one of the greatest accompanists alive, American pianist Dalton Baldwin.
