MUSICHE VENEZIANE PER VOCE E STRUMENTI
In 1956 MS Berganza won the conservatory's singing Competition and was also awarded the “Lucrecia Arana Prize." Her stage career began very early at the Aix-en-Provence festival with Dorabella's part in “Così fan tutte.”
Since then she has performed at all the great opera houses throughout the world. During the past years she has been acclaimed above all for her interpretation of “Carmen." In addition to this, Teresa Berganza has developed a splendid career as a concert and lied singer.
Through her artistic and vocal genius, her individual spirit and her constant striving for perfection, Teresa Berganza has earned a position as one of the most prominent musical artists of our time.
Teresa Berganza was born in Madrid and studied at the Madrid Conservatory while at the same time a member of the chamber choir “Cantores de Madrid." At the age of eighteen she was admitted to Lola Rodriguez de Aragon's Voice Class.
