SCHUMANN: THE COMPLETE WORKS FOR PIANO, VOL. 1
And now he is the first pianist to venture into the long awaited project by Claves and the Clara Haskil Competition featuring the complete works for piano by Robert Schumann. Finghin Collins has selected a variety of works for this first double CD ranging from the Allegro written in 1831 to the Fantasy Pieces; Op. 111 written in 1851.
The epitome of romantic piano music; filled with power and tenderness. And with a unique charm that makes all the difference.
Irish pianist Finghin Collins became famous when he won the prestigious Clara Haskil Competition in Vevey in 1999. The resulting CD featuring works by Mozart and Beethoven that he made with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra and conductor Emmanuel Krivine was a great success (CD 50-9910).
